At Different Breed ®, we are a disabled-led organisation fully committed to creating accessible digital experiences. We strive to lead the way in accessibility, but we recognise that we may not always get everything right. Your feedback is invaluable to us, and together, we can continue to improve and set new standards for inclusion.
This statement applies to all services provided by Different Breed Ltd (SC653885) (“Different Breed®”, “we”, “us”), including our websites, fan guides, and related services.
Measures To Support Accessibility
To ensure accessibility remains central to everything we do, Different Breed Ltd takes the following measures:
- Accessibility is embedded in our mission, core values, and solutions.
- Internal policies prioritise accessibility at every stage of development.
- Accessibility is integrated into our procurement practices.
- We appoint an Accessibility Officer to oversee compliance and improvements.
- Our team receives ongoing training and education in accessibility.
- We set clear accessibility goals and ensure team-wide accountability.
- Formal quality assurance processes include rigorous accessibility testing.
- A Lived Experience Advisory Board, composed of individuals with disabilities, actively guides and informs all our solutions to ensure real-world usability and relevance.
Conformance Status
Different Breed ® meets the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. The known limitations listed below are the only areas where full compliance is not yet achieved.
Customise Display Panel
Scope: Brochure, Guides & Platform
The following limitations exist within the optional Customise Display panel, which users must actively open and enable.
- Overlay tools and focus visibility — When the Reading Guide, Reading Mask, or Text Magnifier are active, the overlay may visually cover the focused element on screen (WCAG 2.4.11). As these are user-initiated tools, we consider this an acceptable limitation. All overlays can be deactivated at any time.
- Colour scheme selector — The currently active colour scheme cannot receive keyboard focus (WCAG 2.1.1, 4.1.2). Keyboard-only users cannot confirm the selected scheme through focus alone. A fix is on our roadmap.
- Colour swatch target size — Colour swatches are smaller than the 24×24px minimum (WCAG 2.5.8). The spacing exception under this criterion applies. We continue to monitor this.
Platform
Scope: Platform
The following areas of the platform do not currently meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA in full and are on our active development roadmap:
- Data visualisation charts - Charts are labelled but do not currently have text-based data table alternatives available for screen reader users.
- Interactive maps - Map markers are not currently keyboard navigable and do not provide accessible names to assistive technology.
We are committed to resolving these limitations and will update this statement when fixes are released. If either of these areas affects your use of the platform, please contact us so we can provide the information you need in an alternative format.
Guides
Scope: Guides
The following areas of the guides do not currently meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA in full and are on our active development roadmap:
- User contributions — Content submitted by third parties (e.g., text, images) may lack proper structure or alternative text. While we monitor and encourage best practices, we cannot guarantee the quality of content submitted by external sources. If you encounter an issue, please contact the organisation hosting the content or notify us directly, and we’ll assist you where possible.
